The complaint of failure English course.

At the end of last semester, a fellow student complained about how he failed the English course.

The teacher invited him to write a formal letter of complaint to the principal.

I glanced at his letter to see how it was going.

His first sentence read, "Dear Principle, it is infair and unposible that I faled english." 

 

영어과목 낙제에 대한 불평

 

학기말에 어떤 학생친구(*아마도 미국학생인가 봅니다)가 어떻게 자기가 영어과목을 낙제할 수 있느냐고 불평을 터뜨렸다.

선생님이 그 학생에게 교장선생님에게 공식적인 이의서(a formal letter of complaint)를 써 보내도록 권했다.

나는 어떻게 글을 쓰고 있는지 보려고 힐끗 그 친구의 편지를 힐껏 들여다 봤다.

편지의 첫 문장을 읽어 보니,

 

“존경하는 원칙님, 내가 영어에 실파하다니 공종하지도 않고 무가능해요.” ㅎㅎㅎ

 

*이 친구 문장의 틀린 곳을 한 번 봅시다.

교장선생님(principal)을 principle(원칙)으로, 불공정한(unfair)을 infair 로, 불가능한(impossible)을 unposible로, 낙제하다(fail)을 fale로, 대문자가 되어야 할 It를 it 로, English를 english로 적다니 영어를 낙제 받은 것이 당연하겠지요?

 

정확한 문장은 이렇겠지요?

“Dear Principal, It is unfair and impossible that I failed English.”
