"Feeding the Baby" (애기 밥 먹이이기)

My husband is wonderful with our baby daughter, but often he turns to me for advice.

내 남편은 우리 딸 애기한테 참 잘 하는데, 종종 조언을 구하려고 내게 묻는다.

 

Recently, I was in the shower when he poked his head in to ask, "What should I feed Lily for lunch?"

최근에, 내가 샤워를 하고 있는데 남편이 머리를 쑥 내밀고 묻기를, “릴리(딸애 이름)에게 점심으로 뭘 먹이면 될까?”

 

"That's up to you," I replied. "There's all kinds of food. Why don't you pretend I'm not at home?"

“당신이 알아서 해요. 먹일 게 많이 있잖아요. 내가 집에 없다고 생각하세요.”라고 대답했다.

 

A few minutes later, my cell phone rang.

몇 분 후에 내 휴대폰이 울렸다.

 

I answered it to hear my husband asking, "Yeah, hi, Honey. Uh...what should I feed Lily for lunch?"

“근데, 잘 있어 여보. 어… 내가 릴리한테 점심으로 뭘 먹여야 할까?”라고 묻는 남편에게 답을 해야만 했다.

 

ㅎㅎㅎㅎ 이 좀 얼간이 같은 공처가가 집에 없다고 생각하고 알아서 먹이라는 말을 외출중인 아내에게 물어보듯 휴대폰으로 물어보다니… ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ
