- Oriskany Falls 

The little old lady seated herself right behind the bus driver. Every ten minutes or so she'd pipe up, 

"Have we reached Oriskany Falls yet, sonny?"

"No, lady, not yet. I'll let you know," he replied,time after time.

A few minutes later, she piped up again "Are we there yet, sonny? Have we reached Oriskany Falls?"

Once again, he replied "No, not yet. I'll let you know when we get there!"

The hours passed, the old woman kept asking for Oriskany Falls, and finally the little town came into view.

Sighing with relief, the driver slammed on the breaks, pulled over and called out, 

"This is where you get out, lady."

"Is this Oriskany Falls?"

"YES!" he bellowed. "Get out!"

"Oh, I'm going all the way to Albany, sonny," 

she explained sweetly. 

"It's just that my daughter told me that when we got this far, I should take my blood pressure pill."  ^^

 
나이가 그다지 많지 않아 보이는 초로의 부인이 버스기사 바로 
뒷자리에 앉더니, 10분이 멀다 않고 줄곧 “여보게, 이제 오리스카니 
폴스에 도착했는감?”이라고 큰 소리로 물어댔다.
“아줌마 아직은 아닙니다. 도착하면 이야기할 게요.”
라고 반복해서 대답을 하곤 하였다. 
몇 분 후에 또 그 여자는 
“여보게, 아직 아니야? 오리스카니 폴스에 도착한 건감?”이라고 
목청을 돋웠으나, 운전수는 여전히 “아직 아니외다. 그기에 도착하면
알려 드릴께요.”라고 대답을 했다.
몇 시간이 흐르는 동안 그 나이든 부인은 계속해서 오리스카니 폴스에
대해 물어대고 있었다. 
드디어 한 조그만 마을이 나타나자, 운전수는 한숨을 푹 쉬면서
거칠게 브레이크를 꾹 밟아 차를 세웠다. 그러고는 큰 소리로 불렀다. 
“부인, 여기 내릴 곳에 다 왔소이다.” 
“여기가 오리스카니 폴스야?”
“그래요! 빨리 내려요.”라고 버럭 소리를 질렀다.
“오, 여보게 난 지금 알바니로 가는 길일세. 다만, 우리 딸네가 
여기쯤 가서 혈압약을 먹어야 된다고 해서 그런 거라네.”
라고 상냥스럽게 설명했다. ㅎㅎㅎ
